Why should I buy insurance for my sneakers? Are they not covered under my homeowners/renters policy?
You should buy sneaker insurance because your homeowners/renters insurance policy may not cover them fully. Homeowners' insurance frequently has caps on collectibles (including sneakers) and includes burdensome requirements (ex. scheduling all to-be-covered items). Homeowners' insurance almost always contains a deductible for damage or theft (our insurance does not**). Also, homeowner carriers are not familiar with sneakerheads and their sneaker collections which can often lead to questions and confusion at the time of the claim.
